Your help is needed!
Early this year, our leaders began discussing how we could help the children entrusted to us experience a summer they would never forget. A pandemic is not what we had in mind. My kids, your kids, all kids will remember this time. I imagine childhood stories from these days will one day be passed down to inquisitive grandchildren longing to hear about the days passed.
What stories will the foster children of today tell? What will be said about the adults who held the power to make life better for them? What will they say about the church? I don’t know what specific memories will stand out in the years to come, but I pray these kids remember the faithful love of the Father as demonstrated by our caregivers, churches and supporters.
No matter the circumstances of this season, God’s mercy is unfailing. Paul speaks of this truth in Philippians 4:12-13, “I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”
Whether in loss or abundance, we find peace in the faithfulness of our God, who is supreme over all things. Jesus has made it possible to carry His mission of redemption into the world, regardless of the circumstances.
Despite the uncertainty, I couldn’t be more excited about the path God is taking us down and the team that is leading the way into the future of caring for children and families.
Arkansas families need you now more than ever! Will you stand strong for the children and families who need hope and a future? May we stand together with courage and fight with faith until we see the victory! With God’s mercy in sight, may this truly be a summer to remember.
But you, take courage! Do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded.
2 Chronicles 15:7.
