Joshua Townsend has a missions mindset. The Texarkana, Texas, native has lived and worked in Alaska, Costa Rica, Ecuador and Peru. After graduating from Texas A&M University, he taught English for the U.S. Embassy and the Fulbright Commission in Quito, Ecuador, where he returned a few years later to coordinate, receive and lead short-term mission teams throughout the country. Joshua met his wife, Rebecca, while attending Portantorchas, a Torchbearers Bible school in San Jose, Costa Rica. Three kids, a dog and a number of years later, they are delighted to call central Arkansas home. Prior to joining Arkansas Baptist Children’s Homes in 2016, Joshua enjoyed a successful career in sales and marketing. Now he is honored to advocate for children and families in need of hope, healing and restoration. Joshua is a licensed and ordained minister, and is currently pursuing a master’s degree at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
