Tonya Larmoyeux

DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY OUTREACH

In the small town of West Point, Arkansas was a little girl who could be found climbing trees or riding horses while she dreamed of saving the world. More pets than people lived in Tonya’s rural community, but it was life in the country that began to shape her life in Christ. While Tonya’s dad trained her to get “back in the saddle”, Tonya’s mom raised her on the piano bench of the little Baptist church. On a sunny day, it wasn’t uncommon for Tonya to hitch her donkey to the church bell, and it was on those wooden steps of the church building where she surrendered her life to the Lord.

Tonya left the country for college in Jonesboro where she met and married her husband, Chris. She graduated with a degree from Arkansas State University in Elementary Education, a decision that was influenced by the numerous mission opportunities she experienced through campus ministry. Tonya served as the Assistant Director of the Baptist Collegiate Ministry at her alma mater, and has held various church leadership roles from children to young adult ministries. She was privileged to spend ten years as a full-time mom to her three children who are now in high school and college. For the last decade, Tonya taught mathematics in public schools at the elementary, middle, and high school level, and most recently worked in administration. From childhood to college to career, there are three things that always grabbed Tonya’s heart: church, community, and children. Although she can still be found petting her dogs, riding horses or singing with the church, she prefers to spend her “free” time with those she loves.

At every stage of life both professionally and personally, Tonya has strived to live out her passion for people by serving where she has been placed. She is excited to join the ABCFM team because she is passionate about our mission to build, strengthen and restore Arkansas families.
