Letters of Love

This is a letter exchange between one of our Resident Managers and one our moms in the program. The first letter was to the mom from the Resident Manager when the mom moved into the home. The second letter is to the Resident Manager from the mom when the mom is preparing to move out.

Dear Desired Haven mom,

I’m sure this time of moving into the home is filled with all sorts of emotions. A little fear, excitement, and nervousness. I want to assure you that is totally normal. I pray that Desired Haven is a place you can rest, recoup, and grow in your walk with the Lord. This journey will not always be fun or pretty, but it will be worth it. There will be many steps forward and a few steps back, but the Case Manager and I want to meet you where you are. We want to meet you with grace and mercy and please always know that you will receive no judgment from us. God has brought you to this program for a purpose and has big plans for you. I want this to be a place where you can be free to be yourself. My prayer for you is that your tribe gets bigger and stronger, that you know you are safe and loved, and that you know you are enough.

I am very excited to have you and your kiddos in the home. Do not be afraid to lean in and trust the program. I cannot wait to see how God works in your life and how he empowers you to be just what your kids need.

Love,

Resident Manager

Dear Resident Manager,

I would like to thank you. You have a beautiful, selfless way about you. You have helped lead me to be the absolute best mom and woman I could possibly be. If it were not for you allowing God to use you in my life, there is no way I would be where I am. You have helped mold me. You have believed in me all along, and that is what I needed. I am amazed by your heart for me and my daughters. I am now tasting true freedom from bondage and sin. You are a huge part of my journey and testimony. I pray God will double the portion of your blessing. In Luke 6:38 it says, “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” I pray this for you and your family, in Jesus’ name. Thank you for being an amazing friend and doing life with me.

I love you,

Desired Haven Mom
